This week has been hectic to say the least. Between long days at work and Emma's first dentist appointment (she did great), we've hardly had a chance for a breather.
Plus it's fair week. The one that is a short mile from our house and much anticipated all summer long
I've been building it up to Emma for weeks, talking about the animals and the rides and the ice cream cones from the boy scout troops. We went Tuesday on opening night, and it didn't disappoint.
Ours has this great little petting zoo, where you can feed the animals and pet them all you want. In years past Emma had me hold her, but not this year. Sister loved on those little goats.

All Emma wanted was to see the pigs, and when she noticed that there weren't any at the petting zoo she was ready to move along. She loves pigs, and asks for a "wittle baby one" all the time. Luckily we got to see some up close and personal, and she was thrilled chatting with this big ol' brute who was making all kinds of noises.
They were fast friends.

Fancy running into this little guy.

Emma noticed the rides on the way in, but wanted to see the pigs first. She kept saying, "that one looks a wittle fun" as we walked by.
She ended up riding the ferris wheel with her dad. She has no fear, and I was seriously nauseous as it went round and round, praying hard that it wouldn't come tumbling down. They survived, and Emma waved real big from the very top and ran off smiling.
She ended up riding a ton of rides, some with dad and some by herself, but never afraid. She gets that from her dad.
By the end of the night Em was way overtired, and i'm learning about the wicked tantrums that come along with it. She accidentally dropped her ice cream cone in the grass by the car as we loaded up to leave, and it all went downhill from there. I couldn't really blame her, it would totally stink to drop your ice cream cone.
More craziness ahead this week, with plans to head back to the fair tonight or tomorrow. I just love this time of year.
