Tonight the whole family took a nice long walk. Eva starts to get cranky around 6pm, and tonight the fresh air calmed her right down.
A new milestone for Eva, raspberries. She is very proud of herself when she makes them, and all the more if you make them back at her.

Tonight we stopped at our little ice cream shop so Emma could get her scoop of chocolate ice cream. Her favorite.

We ended up walking home as the sun went down, and Emma has been telling us lately that she doesn't like it when it gets dark outside. In an attempt to vanish her fears, I tell her that the sun needs to sleep, and we like the dark because we can cuddle up inside and watch movies and all be together. We try and spot the moon and stars, and tonight she asked if the moon had "wittle babies".

Speaking of chocolate ice cream, Emma and I have an after school ritual. We almost always go get a scoop of ice cream or go spend some time at the library. I think she's starting to look forward to it.
On Thursday we went to Culvers only because their flavor of the day was pumpkin, my favorite.

Emma requested ice cream and french fries. Then she dipped them without my prompting. Smart girl.

Eva is officially a little momma's girl. Always needing to see me, and most preferably slung on my hip. Thank goodness for my baby carrier or i'd get nothing done.
Her swing sits in the middle of our living room against the wall, so she has a clear shot of me walking down the hallway to the kitchen. Then always, as soon as I turn the corner out of sight, forget about it.
Oh, and I do love her too.
Tonight on our walk, watching me like a hawk.

And now for another ritual, trying to brush through Emma's wild hair while she's asleep. Thank goodness for detangler and a (usually) sound sleeper.

Sweet post! Love all those simple little things that make the girls happy!
