... and it was a great day. Thank goodness for my mom, who knew right where to go once we got into the crazy city, including the hidden parking garage only a short block from American Girl. We got to the city in under two hours, shopped a little, ate lunch, and we were back around 2. A perfect little day trip.
Emma was in her glory, and such a sweet natured little thing. She never once had a tantrum or got mad when she couldn't have something, she just kinda walked around in awe.

My mom treated us to lunch in the American Girl cafe. It was adorable inside, and there were certainly no details spared. We were served a delicious 3-course lunch, and there were high chairs for all of Emma's dolls with little place settings. There are even holders for the dolls in the bathroom stalls, so needless to say, Emma did great going on the potty while we were there.

They sang to the birthday girl, and she got a delicious little cake. She hid under the table while they sang, but with a big smile on her face.

Sleeping beauty on the way home
I think Emma has thanked me for her dollies 10 times since we've left the store. Like, sometimes I don't know where she came from. I just love her.
Joey will be home in about an hour, so this perfect little day is only getting better. Aladdin is on the disney channel, we are eating Jack's pizza dipped in ranch, and the big beautiful sun is setting right outside of our big bay window. Oh, and not to forget, I got a little nap this afternoon. What a perfect Friday. xoxo
